Farm Raised Fashion brings together natural fibre farmers and textile artists within the Upper Canada Fibreshed to create garments and accessories that are grown and made, all within 400 km of Toronto. Embodying diverse land and textile traditions, this collection enables a vibrant, local fashion community rooted in ecological regeneration.

Each Farm Raised Fashion product has a story that is attached to the Ontario landscape. Each stage of the process is captured: a farmer raising a heritage breed of sheep, the fibre washed, carded and spun at a local mill, or a weaver working on a loom. These garments and accessories nurture and support artisanal creation and the landscapes that nurture and support us.

Follow the journey of wool and alpaca from the farm gate to cozy finished product.

Farm Raised Fashion was produced by Becky Porlier for the Upper Canada Fibreshed. All photographs, unless otherwise noted were taken by Emily Neill. This project was supported by a 2019 Fibershed Micro-Grant. Thank you to Nadine McLeod, Michelle Fish and all the participants and supporters.
